The Team
We are ARC MESA Baja, a Baja SAE team at American River College, funded through the college’s MESA program. We design, build, test, and race the car ourselves — and we are doing it for the first time.
How we are organised
The car is split into subteams. Most members start on one and end up touching several, because on a team this size nobody stays in their lane for long. You do not need experience to join any of them.
-
Frame & Chassis
Roll cage layout to the current rulebook, tubing selection, jigs, cutting, and welding.
-
Suspension & Steering
Geometry, travel and camber targets, shock selection, uprights, and the steering package.
-
Drivetrain
CVT tuning, gearbox ratios, half shafts, and mounting the engine so it survives the endurance run.
-
Electrical & Data
Kill switches and brake light to rules, the wiring harness, and instrumentation for testing.
-
Business & Cost
The cost report, the sales presentation judges score, sponsor outreach, and every purchase order.
Every subteam has room. Here is how to join →
