MESA BAJA

American River College · Baja SAE

What is Baja SAE?

Baja SAE is a collegiate design competition run by SAE International. Every team gets the same 10 hp engine and one year to design, build, and race a single-seat off-road vehicle.

Cars are scored on design, cost, and a sales presentation, then raced through acceleration, maneuverability, a hill climb, and a four-hour endurance event over rough terrain.

What do we do?

We are ARC MESA Baja, a Baja SAE team at American River College, funded through the college’s MESA program. We design, build, test, and race the car ourselves — frame, suspension, drivetrain, electronics, and the business case behind it.

This is our first season. We are recruiting on every subteam, and no experience is required.
